It’s been a tough year. High unemployment, slumping retail sales, several businesses failing. A person could get down and disheartened after a year like that. But there is ”plenty to be thankful for.” We still live in a country where it is possible, if no longer a cinch, to own your own piece of land and [...] It is now just a formality. Having passed the Senate and House, the bill designed to further stimulate the housing market, and thus the economy in general, is sitting on the President’s desk, awaiting his signature. Many times when I am showing property to prospective buyers I am asked about the neighborhood; is it noisy?, is it loaded with kids?, etc. North Carolina Real Estate Law and the Federal Fair Housing Act prohibit agents from helping buyers make [...] This story comes from Ilyce Glink of Inman News…..It seems that a home buyer is upset that the sellers neglected to tell them that there was a noisy neighbor that watches sports all day Sunday, and yells at the top of his lungs after virtually every play. After the games he blasts Pink Floyd’s “Money” [...] There’s an old Jimmy Durante song that went, “Did you ever have the feeling that you wanted to go but then you had the feeling that you wanted to stay?” Then there’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go?” by The Clash.
