So here I sit, in beautiful Apopka, Florida, enjoying Thanksgiving with my wife and her father, who celebrates his 92nd birthday tomorrow. We haven’t seen him since last Thanksgiving, and he hasn’t changed a bit.
Something else that doesn’t seem to have changed much is the real estate market here in Orange County. Last year when we visited there were two homes on my father in law’s street for sale, one listed with a full service realtor, and a For Sale By Owner. 365 days later, and they are both still for sale. Things are still tough here for real estate agents. I ran into one yesterday at a local restaurant. She was waiting on tables.
While it is good to get away for a few days, I look forward to returning to the Lake Norman region of North Carolina, where homes in Mooresville, Huntersville, Davidson, or Cornelius can still be bought and sold.
Meanwhile, I want to take a moment to give thanks for the people that have allowed me to serve them in their real estate transactions in 2006. I hope they got the service they wanted. That is always my goal. This is a business that relies in no small way on referrals. If you or someone you know is considering a real estate transaction, and have questions about the current market conditions, please call me at 704-578-4778. I will be glad to help you with your decision. In the meantime, please have a happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy the time with family and friends.
